The University of York has announced a major new partnership with Higher Ed Partners (HEP) UK to offer online Masters degree programmes.

Learners on online courses can balance their studies around work and personal commitments

Students will be able to enrol on three online MSc programmes in Innovation, Finance and International Business. The first of the new courses will begin in April 2018.

The move will allow a wider range of learners to earn a Masters degree at a research-intensive, Russell Group university while balancing their studies around work and personal commitments.

Widening access

Professor Koen Lamberts, Vice-Chancellor of the University of York, said: “This strategic partnership with Higher Ed Partners UK aligns with the University of York’s global outlook, innovative approach and founding principles of excellence, equality and opportunity for all.

“These specialised online courses will enhance our ability to offer our high-calibre degree programmes to a wider community, regardless of where they live or where they are in their professional journey. They will also widen access to higher education for people from a variety of backgrounds.”

Learners on online courses benefit from the same outstanding quality of education as on-campus students; unlike traditional teaching however, students are able to access learning at a time and location convenient to them on a variety of mobile devices, fitting their work around a job or changing personal circumstances.

There will be six start dates for the new courses per year, allowing students to begin studying at their convenience. Students can also spread the cost of their degree by paying their tuition course fees per module.

Partnership

HEP UK will support the launch and marketing of the new programmes with a comprehensive suite of online solutions, including: supporting the creation of one-to-one interactions between students and academics online, discussion forums, video lectures and guided reading lists. They will also help to attract qualified students and will provide ongoing student support through graduation.

Steve Hill, CEO of HEP UK said: “We are delighted to partner with the University of York to help them expand access to these high-quality degree programmes and we look forward to growing our partnership in the future”.

Enrolment is now open.
