"It is also a great opportunity for me, personally, as the new Dean of HYMS, to meet them and find out more about their work."

Professor Mark Ferguson, Chief Executive of Renovo Plc, will talk on theChallenges, opportunities and implementation of translational research. Renovo is a Biotechnology Company spun out of the University of Manchester, which is developing novel pharmaceutical therapies to prevent scarring or accelerate healing following wounding.

The conference provides an excellent opportunity for those involved in health research across the HYMS region to come together and discuss their work; capitalising on regional strengths and forging new links. Researchers will also have the opportunity to present completed and on-going research through poster presentations, which delegates are able to browse and discuss at their leisure throughout the day.
