Home Secretary to give Heslington Lecture: ‘One nation, many faiths'

The Home Secretary, the Rt Hon David Blunkett MP, will give this year's Heslington Lecture on Thursday 30 October. The lecture, which is open to the public and free of charge, is entitled ‘One nation, many faiths: creating unity with diversity in multi-faith Britain'.

David Blunkett has been the MP for Sheffield, Brightside since 1987, and has been Home Secretary since the 2001 General Election. He was previously Secretary of State for Education.

The Heslington Lecture was established at the University in 1965. The theme is ‘Religion and the modern world'. Previous speakers include Jonathon Porritt, Bruce Kent, Rabbi Julia Neuberger and Lord Habgood.

The Heslington Lecture will be at 5.30pm on Thursday 30 October in Central Hall at the University of York. Admission is free and all are welcome.
