Management scores 22

Posted on 9 March 2001

The Centre for Management at the University of York has scored 22 out of 24 in its official Subject Review.

The score continues the University's excellent marks for Subject Review, which have led to its dominating the university teaching 'league tables' in recent years.

Subject Review measures the quality of teaching in every subject in every university. York has a superb record, with 85 per cent of its departments rated 'excellent' for teaching, placing it well at the top for teaching league tables.

The Review team from the Quality Assurance Agency visited the Centre for Management from 5 to 8 March. They looked at six aspects: curriculum design; teaching, learning and assessment; student progression and achievement; student support; learning resources; and quality management and enhancement. Each area was awarded a score out of 4 (total possible marks: 24). The Centre submitted a document in advance which detailed aims and objectives in each of the six areas.
