Event details

Join this 90 minute session for an insightful exploration of the Psychology of (Not) Eating Meat with Dr Thomas Davies (Lecturer in Psychology) and Dr Emily Nicholls (Lecturer in Sociology).

The lecture will be split into 3 sections:

Thomas will explore the ethical, moral, and environmental consequences of eating meat, then discuss research on the meat paradox - that most people both love animals and care for the environment, but surprisingly still eat meat;

Emily will provide an overview of her research on the psychology of consuming (or choosing not to consume) plant based meat substitutes, such as plant based steaks and burgers that resemble meat;

The session will conclude with a Q&A with the audience.
