ABOUT:

York is well known for its ghostly tales. Visitors flock to the city to go on one of the famous ghost walks, to seek out haunted pubs, or to buy ghostly souvenirs. However, the people who live in York and its residential neighbourhoods are rarely featured in these stories. But what about the people who live here? What are their experiences of ghosts and hauntings? And what might these tell us about our relationships to the places we live? Or to the people who used to live there? A co-production between Skald Theatre Group and Hepaestus Theatre, this relaxed, captioned performance brings these stories to life verbatim for the residents of York and supporters of the project to enjoy. Commissioned by Dr Sarah Hall for the Institute for the Public Understanding of the Past (IPUP) at the University of York.

ACCESSIBILITY GUIDANCE:

This is a relaxed performance with captions. There is level access throughout the venue, lower volume levels, soft natural lighting, and attendees are free to move during the event. One fully accessible toilet and baby change facilities.
