Key library dates over the Christmas 2025

Here’s an overview of what happens in the library over December and January, and how it affects you. The headlines are: the library is closed on December 25th, 26th and 31st but otherwise open as normal over vacation! More detailed info below, in chronological order.

14th December is the last day before vacation starts
Library opening hours remain 8am - midnight over this period apart from the days listed below. Remember to bring your books back before you go as they may still be recalled over the vacation!
24th December the main library closes at 4pm
25th and 26th December: library closed
The Morrell, Burton and Fairhurst close at 4pm on Christmas Eve and reopen at 8am on the 27th of December.
27th - 30th December the library is open as usual
8am to midnight for the Morrell, noting that we're in Eco-Mode.
31st December - the main library closes at 4pm
1st January 2026: Library closed
The Morrell, Burton and Fairhurst close at 4pm on New Year's Eve, until 2nd January.
2nd January the library reopens at 8am
Regular 8am - midnight opening until 24/7 returns on the 6th.
5th January - 1st February the library will be open 24/7
For the exam period we return to 24 hour opening.
