Other qualifications

We are willing to consider alternative qualifications on their merits, especially in the case of applicants aged over 21 and applicants from overseas.

If you wish to study French, or German/Spanish on the A Level Route, then we will normally require you to have at least a B in that language at A level or equivalent.

If English is to be your language specialism, then A level or equivalent qualifications in English Language are desirable but not essential.

English language qualifications

Applicants who have an EFL requirement to fulfil must obtain at least 6.5 IELTS (or accepted equivalents) or they cannot be admitted. The University pre-sessional programme is not an alternative to fulfilment of the requirement.

See also the University's information page for English language requirements.
