Play to Discover: Playful Methods for Participatory Research
Event details
When we give ourselves permission to play, we create safer, braver, and more inclusive spaces where people feel genuinely free to share diverse perspectives and tackle difficult topics together. We explore how playful approaches can add real methodological value across the full research journey, from participatory study design and data collection through to dissemination and behavioural change.
While the workshop is designed with particular relevance to those working in mental health research, it would be useful to anyone involved in co-production across diverse populations, including patient groups, carers, and practitioners of all ages. The ideas and frameworks discussed have broad applicability across the whole journey of a research project, from participatory study design and data collection, through to dissemination and a wider impact on understanding and behavioural change.
The workshop is hosted by the Playful Learning at York (PLaY) Group and sponsored by Institute of Mental Health Research at York (IMRY). Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available along with some games!
