Student comments included that “lecturers are always happy to meet you and discuss further into your specific interests” and that the department offers “well-organised courses with a variety of skills tested.” In response to the positive NSS results, the Head of Department Professor Jo Swaffield said: “I am very pleased to see that the significant efforts of so many academic and support colleagues, to ensure our students were supported during the spring 2020 Covid-19 lockdown, have translated into this positive NSS 2020 outcome.”
Chair of the Department Teaching Committee, Dr Michael Thornton added: “Our students experience a stimulating and challenging learning environment with real-world relevance. It is great to see that this has been recognised in the National Student Survey.”
