The Economics Society were delighted to recently host the Bank of England on the University of York campus as part of their annual roadshow. This event is designed to give students an insight into the opportunities available at the Bank, as well as to broaden understanding of current issues in central banking.
Students were provided with an introduction to the Bank of England with information about its culture, the business areas it operates in and the type of work that recent graduates have been involved with. Following this students had the opportunity to ask questions to a panel, consisting of an industrial placement student from the University of York and a graduate on their training program. This was followed by a networking session.
The Roadshow included a ‘Challenge the Bank’ debate with leading economists from the bank and tailored skills sessions learning top tips for understanding applications and assessments.
