Tilburg ranking 2019

As arguably the most prominent research ranking of economics departments, the Tilburg University Top 100 Worldwide Economics Schools Research Ranking (https://econtop.uvt.nl/rankinglist.php) evaluates all economics departments across the world based on publications in 35 leading economics journals over the last five-year period.

Prof. Jo Swaffield, Head of Economics at York, commented: "I am so very pleased that our department is yet again ranked in the global top 100 (at #78) in the latest Tilburg Ranking. Our improved score measured on output in the past five years provides external recognition of the outstanding research contribution by colleagues at York. The state-of-the-art research we do is central to our mission, inspires our teaching, and has demonstrable impact on society in the UK and beyond."

Looking at a longer period since entering this millennium, York's Economics Department has retained an overall 8th in the UK and 82th in the world over the past 19 years by the Tilburg ranking, which further verifies our robustness in research excellence.
