York to host Royal Economic Society Annual Public Lectures

Economics at York working in collaboration with the Royal Economic Society and the University’s Events team will host the Society’s Annual Public Lectures in the years 2018 to 2020.

‌The lecture series, first established in 2001, is aimed primarily at sixth form students but is open to all generations of the general public. It conveys top quality economic research to a wide audience with the help of some of the best communicators in the economics profession. The lectures are usually held in the second half of November.

Professor Jo Swaffield, Head of the Department of Economics and Related Studies at the University of York commented on the announcement: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to host this prestigious event.
