This year’s significantly improved scores reflect our continuing efforts to provide not only high-quality degree programmes but also the best possible student experience in terms of support, engagement and academic community. Our teaching staff are readily contactable outside of classroom hours (with a 94% approval response to this NSS question), each student has a personal academic supervisor for ongoing guidance and advice, and students participate alongside academic staff in departmental committees, making valuable contributions to our decision-making.
Head of Department, Professor Jo Swaffield says "NSS 2017 is a highly encouraging result for our Department, with our commitment to excellence in both research and teaching. We are delighted that our 2017 graduates had such a positive experience with us, and we wish them the very best for the future. We now look forward to working with our current and incoming students, to develop and enhance still further our degree programmes and our academic community.”
