Join CHE as a Research Fellow

CHE is seeking to appoint a Research Fellow within the Health Policy team to contribute to the NIHR Policy Research Unit: Economics of Health and Social Care Systems (ESHCRU) on a full-time contract (part-time applications will also be considered with a minimum of 0.8 FTE). This is a fixed term appointment ending 31 December 2028.
The successful applicant will apply an economic perspective to the quantitative analysis and evaluation of UK health systems and policy. ESHCRU uses microeconomic and microeconometric analysis techniques to answer important policy questions.
The Research Fellow will be based in the CHE, one of the world’s most prominent academic health economics research centres. For over forty years we have been committed to the development and application of economics to promote health and wellbeing through the effective, efficient, and equitable use of scarce resources. We are a community of over 100 research staff, support staff, and PhD students. CHE is a vibrant and collaborative research-only department and therefore all staff are encouraged to work on campus at least 50% of their contracted hours, ideally over the core working days of Tuesday - Thursday.
Skills, Experience & Qualification needed
Key requirements are (see job description for the full list):
- A Master’s level qualification in health economics/economics or another closely related economic subdiscipline
- Knowledge in microeconomics and applied microeconometrics to engage in high-quality research
- Knowledge of advanced research techniques and methodologies applied in health economics (e.g., difference-in-differences, instrumental variables, panel data, theory development)
