Religious leadership in the Colombian armed conflict: challenges and opportunities
Piergiuseppe Parisi (CAHR), jointly with Diana Granados (University of Cauca - Colombia), organised a conference to present and discuss the 'Considerations and Guidance for the Humanitarian Engagement with Religious Leaders'.
The report was published as part of the Generating Respect Project (in Spanish here), in Colombia, one of the Project country case studies.
The event was hosted by the University of Cauca in Popayán (Colombia) on 13 March 2023. Participants included some of the Project research participants, Colombian academics, humanitarian and human rights organisations, religious leaders, and a peace advocate.
The conference was followed by a closed-door workshop during which the panellists were joined by experts on the intersections between religion and conflict to discuss specific themes emerged during the research in and on Colombia.
