CAHR Fellows invited to the Mansion House to meet the Lord Mayor

The Rt Hon the Lord Mayor of York, Councillor David Carr and the Lord Mayor’s Consort, Lynda Carr invited the human rights defenders and members of the Friends of defenders scheme to the Mansion house at the end of February.
They took time to learn about the work of the CAHR Fellows, and were pleased to hear that the defenders had found sanctuary in the city of York.
In recognition of their ‘brave work’ the defenders were gifted with a free ‘Open Pass’ to the Mansion House and encouraged to use it whenever they felt the need to be somewhere safe. The meeting was followed by a tour of the Mansion house and the opportunity to try on a selection of historical outfits.
