Event details

Join Raúl Rosende (United Nations) in conversation with Nina Caspersen, José Gutierrez, and Jacob Eriksson.
We often hear analysts suggest that conflict in the 21st century has changed and is somehow 'new', whether in terms of the role of non-state actors, fragmentation at the sub-state level, international multipolarity and the influence of rising powers, or the impact of globalisation. But are these features actually that new? What are the implications of these trends for peacebuilding in the 21st century?

Raúl Rosende is a peacebuilder with 30 years of experience working for organisations like the United Nations and the Organisation of American States in a diverse set of conflict contexts, including Colombia, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Palestine, Syria, and Yemen.
