Presentation by Laura Tucker and Kyle Schwartz.

Co-production is increasingly central to health and social research, yet integrating meaningful community collaboration into the research process can be challenging. This webinar draws on lessons from two NIHR-funded projects working with Gypsy, Roma and Traveller (GRT) communities to co-design approaches to mental health support and suicide prevention.

The session will highlight practical methodological insights on building trust, recognising community expertise, and sharing power in research partnerships. It will also reflect on the challenges researchers face when co-production meets rigid institutional systems and funding structures.

The webinar is designed for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers, and will offer insights and guidance for developing collaborative research approaches that are responsive to communities often excluded from traditional research processes.
