Event Overview

The award of public contracts has increasingly emphasised the need for the private sector to deliver community benefits and make a social impact. The lack of skills and knowledge in the marketplace has led to a growing need for expertise in delivering social value. In this Masterclass, Christian Stanbury, CEO of the Welsh Education Partnership Company (WEPCo), shares his experience and a solution created by the Welsh Government through the Mutual Investment Model. Recently held up as a “sensible and pragmatic approach” by the Thinktank The Future Governance Forum (Rebuilding the Nation 03: Infrastructure Investment Partnerships - Future Governance Forum), WEPCo is a unique joint venture between the Welsh Government and Meridiam delivering schools and colleges throughout Wales. At the heart of its approach is a commitment to making a long term social impact responding to local needs and national policy. Christian will share how this has worked well in Wales and the possibilities of using similar models in the future.
