About the speaker
Dr Douglas Dyer
Dr Douglas Dyer is a Senior Research Fellow and Sir Henry Dale Fellow in the Division of Immunology, Immunity to Infection & Respiratory Medicine at the University of Manchester. He obtained his PhD from Manchester in 2012, where he studied how the protein TSG-6 regulates chemokine activity, and has since developed an internationally recognised research programme exploring how immune cells cross the endothelial glycocalyx during inflammation. His work combines biochemistry, biophysics and in vivo models to understand chemokine-glycosaminoglycan interactions and their roles in leukocyte recruitment, vascular permeability and inflammatory disease.
