Professor Karen Blyth is a leading figure in in vivo cancer biology at the CRUK Scotland Institute, University of Glasgow. She earned her BSc in Biochemistry and her PhD from the University of Glasgow, and spent more than a decade (1997–2008) as a postdoctoral fellow in the Molecular Oncology Lab at Glasgow. Since 2009 she has led the Transgenic Models of Cancer Facility and now serves as Professor in the School of Cancer Sciences. Her research employs genetically engineered mouse models to probe how critical signalling pathways (e.g., RUNX/CBFβ) and survival factors like MCL-1 drive tumour development, progression, metastasis, and therapy response across breast, prostate, kidney, and bladder cancers.
