Francesca Ajossa

Born in Cagliari (Italy) in 1999, Francesca started her musical education at a very young age at the Conservatory of Cagliari, in the Organ class of Professor Angelo Castaldo. After having graduated with honours, she continued her studies at Codarts Rotterdam, where in 2020 she obtained her Master of Music under the guidance of Professor Ben van Oosten.

Despite being always active as a performer at various international festivals (Italy, The Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Finland, Hong Kong), during her Master studies she discovered her interest in research. She completed her Artistic Research project “The Ear as an Eye”, focused on the creation of a performance with dance based on the solo organ piece “Les Corps Glorieux” by O.Messiaen, studying a way to systematically translate the musical score into a dance choreography. This project was awarded the First Prize at the Codarts Research Festival and will soon be presented in concert settings.

During her Master of Music Psychology at the University of York, she hopes to continue her research and explore the effects of interdisciplinary performances on the audience experience.
