There are a total of six speakers who will be discussing their specialised topics. The speakers include:

  1. Professor Morten Boas: Democratic backsliding - is a wind of authoritarianism brewing in Africa?
  2. Issaka Ouedraogo - The impacts of insecurity, economic stagnation and external interference on governance in the Sahel.
  3. Dr Marine Gueguin - France in the Sahel: Unveiling colonialities of power and space (s) and rethinking everyday-militarisation.
  4. Ezenwa Olumba - Securitising Drone Warfare in Africa: Proactive Strategies in the Sahel.
  5. Folusho Oladipo - Women's Activism in Colonial Southern Nigeria and Historical Silences, 1923-1953.
  6. Kennedy Okparaolu - The Changing Fortunes of the Sahel - Theorising with the Politics of Power.
