Our floating wetland has been launched on Campus West lake

Yesterday, we installed a brand new floating wetland on Campus West lake – one of the flagship projects in our Ecological Management Plan.
The wetland has been designed and installed by Biomatrix Water, with a fantastic team of volunteer staff and students helping to plant it up before it was launched into the lake.
Over time, the floating wetland will naturally help improve water quality while creating a safe habitat for birds, pollinators and fish. Made from recycled drinking pipes, coconut fibre and artificial charcoal, it's a sustainable addition that will continue to grow and thrive in the years ahead.
You can find the floating wetland located on Campus West lake between Biology and Eric Milner accommodation. See if you can spot it next time you're walking around campus.
