Getting to King's Manor

King's Manor is in Exhibition Square, next to the City Art Gallery and opposite the Theatre Royal, a few minutes walk from the centre of York. It houses the Department of Archaeology (incorporating the Institute of Advanced Architectural Studies), the Centre for Eighteenth Century Studies and the Centre for Medieval Studies. It provides a venue for meetings and conferences.

Buses 1, 2 and 3 go from the Railway Station to Exhibition Square. Alternately, it takes about 10 minutes to walk. Travelling between the two campuses takes about 20 minutes either by bike or car.

By car, the easiest approach to King's Manor is to take the A19 turn off from the A1237 section of the outer ring road, which goes directly to the centre of the City. Parking is restricted to permit holders. Visitors are advised to arrange parking provision before arrival with their University contact at King's Manor or the Parking Permits Help Desk on 01904 322057 Parking-Permits@york.ac.uk

Roofed cycle storage is available to the rear of the main car park.
