Professor Andrew Tudor, Head of the Department of Theatre, Film and Television, said: “Three years after the Department opened and as it prepares to move into amazing new facilities, now is the ideal moment to showcase its achievements and look forward to its exciting future.”
In September, the Department of Theatre Film and Television will move into a new £24m complex equipped with a scenic stage theatre, a black box theatre, a screening room and professional TV broadcast studios with audio and editing suites.
The Department combines academic rigour with professional skills and boasts strong connections with the media industries. Recent visiting speakers have included Penelope Wilton, Samuel West, Anthony Horowitz and Alan Ayckbourn.
Nik Morris, a third year PhD student in the Department, has worked with a team of other students to produce the promotional film that will be screened on 10 May.
He said: “Producing a film to be screened at BAFTA in front of such an influential audience has been a great opportunity for all those involved.
"By combining theatre, film and television under one roof, the Department reflects the commercial world. TFTV’s new facilities will create an exciting production village on campus.”
