Summer holiday sport at the University

The University of York’s Sports Centre will be hosting a range of sporting activities for young people over six weeks during the summer vacation.

Children aged between seven and sixteen will have the opportunity to try new sports activities including, squash, orienteering, tennis, athletics, hockey, netball, dance, tag-rugby, cricket, basketball, football, rounders and badminton in small friendly groups.

A week’s fun course will run all day for five days from Monday to Friday, 9.15am to 5.00pm and will include organised tuition in a variety of activities. All children taking part must be prepared to try at least two activities during the week. There is also the opportunity to opt for mornings only, just afternoons or all day.

Equipment will be provided for those who do not have there their own and lunch times will be supervised.

The courses will be held from 24 to 28 July, 31 July to 4 August, 7 to 11 August, 14 to 18 August, 21 to 25 August and 28 August to 1 September. The charges per child per week are: mornings only - £34, afternoons only - £42 and full days - £64.
