The South American Archaeology External Seminar Series (SAAESS) is a brand-new space to foster South American Archaeology at the University of York and beyond.

We will bring speakers working across the continent to share their experiences and research on hot topics and the latest discussions. Come to explore different contexts and a wide range of themes that combine archaeological sciences and social theory.

In this opportunity, Professor Luciano Prates (CONICET-Universidad Nacional de La Plata, Argentina) will give a talk titled: “Early humans drove Quaternary megafaunal extinction in South America: myth or reality?”
