The University campus contains a number of car parking facilities, designed to cater for all who use The University. Depending on your needs, you may be able to obtain a permit to park. Otherwise, for the majority of the time, you will be required to use one of the pay and display locations around campus. For more information on permits, see here, and see here for pay and display information. See below for exceptions to the pay and display rule.
Please note due to the University refurbishment programme there is limited parking.

Short Stay & Free Parking
Across campus there are a small number of free short-stay parking bays, maximus stay of 60 minutes. These spaces operate a no return within two hour policy.
In addition, between the hours of 18:00 and 08:00 Monday - Friday, and 18:00 Friday - 24:00 Sunday, parking is free in the pay and display carparks. The requirement to pay and display will be waived during these times. Note that permit-only car parks are still reserved for permit holders during these times.
Special "Drivers with Disabilities Only" parking bays are provided within each main car park and at locations close to certain key buildings. These spaces are dedicated for the use of vehicles displaying a Blue or Orange Badge or a University Disability Permit. These bays are provided free of charge for qualifying person(s). If you require a University Disability Permit, you need to apply in the usual way, however no charge will be made. See the permit page for more information.
There are currently spaces reserved for car sharers in the car park next to the entrance of Vanbrugh College for Heslington West Campus. The car share car park for Heslington East Campus is Kimberlow or Field Lane Car Park. For more details on car sharing, see this page.
Please note that there are also spaces available at The Kings Manor and other outlying premises for designated permit holders.
University Travel and Transport Staff and Security Staff have the authority to direct traffic on campus, regulate entry to the car parks, exercise control over parking and ensure compliance with the University Parking terms and conditions.
Car Park Attendants and Security Staff are empowered to issue a Parking Charge Notices to vehicles parked in contravention of the parking terms and conditions and to issue Parking Charge Notices not displaying a relevant permit.
Travel and Transport Staff and Security Staff are responsible for enforcing the parking terms and conditions under the direction of the Estates Services/Travel Plan Co-ordinator..
