A full service for staff and students costs £25 (saving £5)
I initially called Fixycle to repair a puncture, but ended up having a full service. The collection and return service was brilliant, especially as I had no means of getting my bike to a workshop. When the bike was returned (the same day!) the repairs were all done and explanations were given in simple terms. I will certainly be using Fixycle again in the future as it provided convenience and value for money.

Fixycle offer all University of York staff and students discounted servicing rates – and the price includes collection of your bike from home or work and returning it to you once the repairs are completed.
Riding a bike that is working correctly is a more enjoyable and safer experience. Full bicycle servicing at Fixycle includes:
- Collection of your bicycle
- De-greasing and cleaning your bicycle
- Setting and adjusting gears
- Setting and adjusting brakes
- Basic truing of wheels
- Ensuring that all nuts and bolts are tightened to the correct torque settings
- Lubricating/oiling relevant parts
- Applying water repellent to relevant parts
- Test riding your bike to ensure that everything is working as it should
- Delivering your bike back to you
In addition it will include the labour on fitting new:
- Cables (gear and brake)
- Bearings (wheel, headset and bottom bracket)
- Bottom bracket axels/cups/sealed units
- Pedals/Saddles
- Gear shifters/brake levers

If your bike requires additional work/parts, Fixycle will gain your prior approval before undertaking the work. You will also receive 10% off all parts and accessories.
