The University of York’s Great York Walk returned on Saturday 16 May with its biggest event yet, as 178 walkers came together to raise over an incredible £26,500 so far for Mentally Fit York.
Two University of York leaders have completed an epic five-day, 125-mile walk across the region, raising nearly £12,000 so far to help tackle educational inequality.
Over £72,000 has been raised by students, staff, alumni, and friends in this year’s Challenge Week to support student clubs and societies at York.
Earlier this month Baroness Lady Hale, former president of the UK’s Supreme Court, visited the University’s Law School for a special talk.
From tackling poverty to improving children’s mental health, new grants will support researchers to work with partners across the region to find practical solutions to challenges facing communities in York and North Yorkshire.
