Join the YuCall Student Fundraising Team

Each year we look for students to join the YuCall team as Student Fundraisers. Could it be the role for you?

Are you:

  • confident, friendly and articulate?
  • empathetic and a good listener?
  • keen to help your fellow students get the most out of their time at York?
  • looking for a great way to develop your skills?

Working as a Student Fundraiser is a really worthwhile experience. Not only does it provide you with skills that can benefit future career prospects, such as developing communication and negotiation skills, but it can make a big difference to your University experience.

What’s involved?

You will be chatting to University of York alumni over the phone – finding out what they’ve been doing since graduating, telling them about changes to the University and asking them to give to various charitable funds at the University.

Student Fundraisers benefit from:

  • 6–10 hours of work per week – during term-time, evenings and weekends (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday)
  • £10.99 per hour (plus 12.07 per cent holiday pay)
  • full training and personal development plans
  • A supportive and friendly working environment
  • experience and skills for your CV - plus a reference
  • satisfying work – helping to provide scholarships for students and funding for clubs and societies
  • opportunities to progress to Senior Fundraiser and Supervisor.

It’s fascinating to speak to alumni who have been where you are and to hear their stories and of course, it’s all for an excellent cause.”
Jess, YuCall Student Fundraiser
