International Ambassadors

Our International Ambassadors help at a variety of online events and campus tours, chatting to potential students, and creating engaging content about their experiences here at York.

You'll help give a fair and accurate representation of the University from a student perspective – something potential students and their supporters really value.

This is a flexible, paid, part-time position you can fit easily around your studies, and keep throughout your time at the University (subject to performance).

Eligibility

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

Paying Overseas tuition fees and currently living in the UK
Progressing (or continuing) as a student for the relevant academic year
Be UK-based for their studies, and enrolled on a full-time course from September of the relevant academic year

You must pass a Right to Work check, and complete a Data Protection package before starting any work.

Your hours will be flexible, and allocated on a mutually-acceptable basis. Events can take place on weekdays, evenings and weekends, both during and outside of University semester time.

Role requirements

International Student Ambassadors should have a good understanding of the University's departments, courses, facilities and services (or be willing to learn). You should also:

be responsible, reliable and a good timekeeper
be diplomatic, friendly, approachable and enthusiastic
have the ability to take the initiative and be proactive about tasks
enjoy working with a wide range of students, teachers, parents and career advisers
be comfortable discussing all aspects of student life with the public in a clear and confident manner
