We've gathered information here on opportunities for working, networking and socialising that are specific to international students.
To make the most of your time at York, you should also explore opportunities that are open to all students, whether they relate to developing your career plans, or making the most of your leisure time:
International Student Buddying Scheme
The Student Buddying Scheme matches second and third year students with new students in order to help these students settle into university life and get the most out of their first year here.
If you are starting an undergraduate degree at York, you can request a Student Buddy once you have formally accepted your place at the University and have set up your email account.

If you’re staying on campus over the Christmas and New Year period, would you like to meet with a local person or family for a few hours? This could be for a meal at their house, a walk in the park or to attend a Christmas event together.
International Student Ambassador
The International Student Ambassador role is a flexible, paid, part-time position, where you will be an ambassador for the University and a role model for prospective students.
We recruit for this post twice per year in the Autumn and Spring, when information will be posted on the Careers Gateway. Please contact email@example.com with any queries.
HOST is a charitable organisation which provides international students with the opportunity to experience a weekend in a British home. All hosts are volunteers who enjoy meeting people from other countries and cultures.
