Systems you will use

You'll use a number of systems during your time at the University of York - find out more here.

You should have already set up your IT account (username and password) to access your emails and the systems you need to use but, if you need any help, please see our information for new users on registering your account.

Once you are set up, you can use the My Account page to manage your account and reset your password.

You will receive all correspondence from the University, your department and your tutors through your York Gmail account, so it is important that you check it regularly. You should also use this account to send any correspondence to the University, remembering to include your full name, student number and programme you are on.

As well as hosting your view of the personal information held by the University on your student record, you can use e:Vision to view your personal information, module marks and to request official documentation

Throughout your studies with York, it is your responsibility to keep your student record up-to-date with your personal details, such as your address and contact details.

A Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) is a web-based platform for the digital aspects of your apprenticeship programme. You will use a VLE called Blackboard. This enables you to access resources (such as slides and handouts), join activities and interactions to help you prepare for the different stages of your programme and assessment. You may also use the VLE to submit your work.

PebblePad is a well-established, online portfolio software package used by many UK universities. It is particularly suited for healthcare-related programmes. The PebblePad portfolio provides you with a space to record experiences, activities, achievements and reflections during practice experiences and contains all the mandatory documents that are required to be completed during each practice experience.
