Summary

Curriculum decolonisation is a trending topic which has not been well explored in the realm of accounting education. The multifaceted nature of this subject includes unknown student and academic perspectives, with scarce existing studies in the literature. This project aims to involve students in the discourse by contributing their insights and actively participating in the research process. Through focus groups and interviews led by student interns, different student and academic groups will be targeted to identify key decolonisation themes, evaluate the existing curriculum, and provide insights to establish a more diverse understanding of accounting. Overall, the initiative aims to enhance inclusivity in university accounting education.
