Co-development of a Problem Based Learning (PBL) module in Economics in Partnership with Students
Department: Economics & Related Studies
Project Leads: Yaprak Tavman
Summary
This project aimed to introduce problem-based learning (PBL) into the teaching of economics at the University of York for the first time, incorporating feedback from various student groups in module design. The students we planned to involve in our project were current Economics students and students studying degrees that significantly utilise PBL at York (namely BA Global Development and MSc Sustainable Business). The module where the PBL approach will be introduced is a core second year module, which teaches economics to students who study single honours or interdisciplinary joint honours degrees. This module will be taught from September 2024.
