Lift upgrade delays

Over the summer information was shared about essential lift upgrades taking place across campus. Unfortunately, the works have taken longer than planned, which has affected the reopening schedule of several lifts.

In particular the Derwent Nucleus lift will be out of use for several weeks during the first semester. As the upper floor of Derwent Nucleus is used for teaching, events and other activities, this will cause some disruption.

An Equality Impact Assessment has been carried out, and affected departments have been consulted. We have advised on the need to identify alternative spaces during this interim period.  If you are unable to access any spaces or services on the upper floor, please let your department know as soon as possible so that alternative arrangements can be made.

The Estates team is working to reopen all lifts as soon as possible. We’ll continue to share updates in Staff Digest and the student Things to Know newsletter, as well as on the Campus Disruption web page.
