Department of Sociology PhD Student wins award

Tamlyn Ryan has won an award for her outstanding achievement on the Preparing Future Academics (PFA) programme. In recent years, Tamlyn has taught first year seminar groups for Classical Sociological Theory and during 2010/11 has been working as an Academic Writing Support Tutor for The York Management School. She also works with the Academic Support Office leading and facilitating Turnitin workshops and also works with the Careers Service lending online support for the York Award Facilitators Training course.

These awards aren't given out lightly (there have only been four awards since the programme began) and a recipient has to demonstrate evidence of significant professional development, engagement with pedagogical theory, and an excellent portfolio of work. Everyone in the department offers their congratulations and are pleased to celebrate her achievement!
