There are a wide variety of fellowship funders and schemes.

Tips for finding a fellowship

Some schemes are open to researchers working in all disciplines, while others are restricted to specific areas.

Eligibility criteria vary, so always make sure to check the guidelines for each scheme before beginning an application.

Unless otherwise stated, duration details provided are for full-time fellowships. However, most funders will allow you to undertake a fellowship part-time, particularly for health, caring or family reasons.

Common fellowship schemes

The details provided here are not exhaustive but outline some of the major schemes usually available.

You can find details of other fellowships from organisations like Jobs.ac.uk and Research Professional.
