Writers at York event
Join us for the launch of City of Marvels, a new chapbook by J R Carpenter, published by Broken Sleep Books. Written during her time as Writer in Residence with the StreetLife project in York, these poems have an eye for detail and an ear for the sounds of York in both past and present, inviting the reader to experience the city for the first time, regardless of whether they've ever been.
City of Marvels is a poetic geography and Carpenter has given us both the route and the compass. J R will also present Coney Street Life: A History of Right Now, a limited edition letterpress portfolio printed during her residency, and she will read from her new collection The Pleasure of the Coast, out now with Pamenar Press. All welcome.
