Speaker(s): Naomi Norton
Musicians’ careers are diverse, ever-changing and can span decades, so it is important for them to develop health-promoting behaviours that promote resilience, flexibility and a good quality of life. This session will provide an introduction to thinking about how musical activities affect musicians’ health and wellness, what musicians can do to develop a sustainable career and support the musicians around them, how to identify warning signs of performance-related health problems, and where to seek help. During the session you will be encouraged to think about your own health and wellness as well as that of other musicians that you interact with, but you will not be asked to publicly reveal personal health-related information.
Location: Room 106
