Friday 28 October 2016, 2.00PM to 4.00pm
Speaker(s): Tipping Point
An improvisation workshop with the members of Tipping Point, who are giving an evening concert on the 28th – James Mainwaring, Saxophone, Matthew Bourne, piano; Michael Bardon, double bass, and Joost Hendrickx, drums.
Tipping Point will give a short performance and talk about how the composed material was written and then how they interpret this; there's the chance to ask questions, then students can present their own improvisation (in pre-formed groups, individually, or with Tipping Point in a collective during the session) and then discuss interaction, structuring a piece, ways of organising improvising musicians and generating material.
Observers are welcome!
Location: Lyons Concert Hall
