Department of History of Art is 6th in the UK

This week the Department confirmed its place among the UK's most highly regarded departments for the subject of History of Art. The Department is ranked 6th in the UK in the Complete University Guide 2020.

Published annually since 2007, the Complete University Guide ranks 131 UK universities, 13 Arts, Drama and Music colleges and conservatoires, and 70 subjects by quality measures important to students.

Noting strong scores for student satisfaction, graduate prospects and research, Head of Department Prof Michael White said "I am really pleased to see the high quality of all the Department's work recognised in this result. Our wonderful staff and students have all contributed to this in their own ways".

In total, five departments at the University were ranked in the UK top ten: Chemistry (4^th), English (5^th), History (6^th), History of Art (6^th), and Social Work (9^th).
