Call for Papers: Anachronic

Posted on 11 February 2016

The Department of History of Art will be hosting a pair of sister events in November 2016.

Call for Papers: Postgraduate Research Conference

November 4 2016: Postgraduate Research Conference on the groundbreaking text Anachronic Renaissance, by Alexander Nagel and Christopher Wood. We invite papers from postgraduate students that explore the concept of the anachronic through object-based case studies. Developing out of the York Summer Theory Institute 2015, this one-day conference will give postgraduate students the opportunity to participate in the larger project of expanding the anachronic to new fields of study, periods of art, and avenues of inquiry. The day will open with a roundtable discussion that takes as its starting point the introduction to Anachronic Renaissance, and will be a supportive environment for students to push the boundaries of their own theoretical work.
