New Staff Member Cadence Kinsey

We are thrilled to announce that Dr Cadence Kinsey will be joining the History of Art Department in the autumn.

Cadence will be coming to York from the History of Art Department at UCL, where she has been working on a book project on 'Art after the Internet'. Her research focuses on the relationships between art and technology, and she Dr Cadence Kinsey ‌ is interested in questions concerning gender, representation and the body. Cadence has published in leading interdisciplinary journals such as Signs: Journal of Women in Culture & Society, and in 2014 she co-curated the show Maja Cule: Facing the Same Direction, held at Arcadia Missa gallery in London. An extract of her research on Amalia Ulman's widely debated Instagram performance, Excellences & Perfections (2014), has just been published on the BBC Culture website.
