Blind Spots has opened to glowing reviews and is the first exhibition in over thirty years of the 'black pourings' phase of Jackson Pollock's work, produced between 1951 and 1953. These works indicate a deliberate shift in technique from the familiar drip paintings, occasionally even featuring figurative elements.
Jo's essay in the catalogue focuses on Pollock's lesser known sculpture. Other contributors include Jackson Pollock authority Michael Fried, J.R. Herbert Boone Chair in the Humanities, Johns Hopkins University, as well as Gavin Delahunty, Hoffman Family Senior Curator of Contemporary Art at the Dallas Museum of Art and Stephanie Straine, Assistant Curator, Tate Liverpool.
The exhibition runs until 18th October and then moves on to the Dallas Museum of Art.
