AHRC doctoral funding for 2014-15

Posted on 4 November 2013

A successful collaboration between the Universities of York, Leeds and Sheffield has received a £19m award from the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) to create the White Rose College of the Arts & Humanities.

The award was one of 11 new Doctoral Training Partnerships (DTPs) and seven Centres for Doctoral Training (CDTs) announced by the AHRC.

The funding will be supplemented by a further contribution of £4m from the Universities of Leeds, Sheffield and York, and is testimony to the strength of the arts and humanities across the three Russell Group universities.

The White Rose College of the Arts & Humanities (WRoCAH) is responsible for the distribution of AHRC-funded studentships for these universities and for the coordination of a doctoral training programme. From 2014 WRoCAH is able to offer over 50 AHRC studentships per year to candidates with a place for doctoral study at the Universities of Leeds, Sheffield or York.

For further details, please see the university's full press release.
