AHRC funded Post-Doctoral Research Fellow (Universities of York and Warwick)

We are seeking to appoint a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow (PRF) to work on the project Displaying Victorian Sculpture, an AHRC-funded research project among the University of York, the University of Warwick, and the Yale Center for British Art (YCBA).

This is a three-year fellowship, commencing in October 2010. The PRF will be based in the History of Art department at the University of York, but will work closely with the research team across all three institutions.

The PRF will research and edit a book of nineteenth-century textual and visual sources about the collecting and display of sculpture in Britain and its Empire. He/she will also convene three workshops at major regional collections in the UK, and will help to organize monthly research team meetings.

Applicants must have a PhD in History of Art or a related discipline, and will, ideally, have some knowledge of nineteenth-century sculpture. A reading knowledge of European languages (French, German, Italian) is also desirable.
